I just got home from vacation in San Diego. I went on a tour of a submarine and was reminded of the way children view the world and how blessed we are to work with them and have them in our lives!
The tour was on a submarine and they, as you know are very small...so it was easy to hear the people in front and back of me talking as we went along. A man in front of me was one of those, "read every word" people and he was reading aloud every sign posted about everything on the submarine. He carefully was highlighting dates and details about the sub. It was really very interesting and I esp. liked it because I didn't have to out my reading glasses on to learn all about this submarine.
Behind me though was another tour guide... this one was a little boy...I would guess four years old. He was also talking non-stop as we went through the sub. Only instead of highlighting dates and important features...he was noticing every shape on the submarine! He noticed every triangle, square, circle and rectangle on the entire submarine. He was so excited and as interested in the ship as the man n front of me was.
This made me remember that we all look at life differently...some of us see dates and important features and some of us see shapes...and all of us are on this journey together. No one is more correct in the way they look at things than another...We look at God, each other, our scriptures... everything in our own unique and authentic way!
Again, it took a child to remind me of how unique and wonderful we all are! We are so blessed to have their perspective!
