| Britney, Anna...Are our kids needing help as well? | |

Whenever a person is in trouble they cry out for help--so...I am wondering, why don't the people around them see their need? I am sure the answer to that is complex and I won't even attempt a simple answer.
However I guess I do want to make a comment-- are we all watching T.V. and watching these strangers cry out for help while the children and teens in our own communities, many of whom are also crying out for help, go unnoticed?
Let's admit it --it is easier to care about people who we don't interact with--those we will never meet--be cause there is nothing we can do to help them. And if we notice the kids and teens in our lives we will need to do something.
I don't mean to be shaming here--I am just urging us to notice those in our lives who cry out for help and reach out to them. Many times just noticing their pain and listening will help more than you can even imagine.
The kids who come to my center who have been crying out for help tell me the worst part of being in pain is that the people around seem not to notice--they become more and more invisible the worse their pain gets.
When you see a hurting child or teen, reach out--ask them how they are, listen to their pain--you will be amazed at what a difference you will make in their life!!! | | | Permalink | Trackback |
