Ten Important Things I have Learned in the Past 10 Years:
1) Homemade cookies say "I care" better than words can!
2) Adults will and do support with their generosity and care deeply for hurting children and teens they will never meet.
3) People will and do appreciate a service that is offered for free. We have never charged for our services and people have been so appreciative!
4) No matter how noble the reason for war is... war is often hurtful for children and families!
5) Children are stronger than we give them credit for... but are, at the same time, fragile and in need of our support.
6) Psychologists and psychiatrists value and appreciate our work.
7) Children often cannot express their feelings with word... they need symbolic language tools to help them express what they need to say.
8) A Board of Directors does not need to rotate every three years to be effective... most of our board members have been part of the board since we began!
9) Over a bar is a good place to locate a spirituality center after all!
10) God heals the hurts of all God's children with a little love, care, time, Holy Listening and a few home made cookies.
