| | I just got home from vacation in San Diego. I went on a tour of a submarine and was reminded of the way children view the world and how blessed we are to work with them and have them in our lives! | | |

| By Leanne on1/13/2009 10:50 PM | |
| | I was telling my children at Sunday School--there were about 90 kids, all ages and a nice mix of boys and girls--about Moses and how an evil king was worried about the strength of the Hebrew people so he wanted to have them killed. | | |

| These Days of Quiet | | Leanne's Blog
| By Leanne on12/29/2008 11:49 AM | |
| | I never know quite what to do with myself during these days between Christmas and Advent. I feel like I need to get back to regular routine and start doing my "to do" lists. I feel like I should start calling all my friends that I wanted to have coffee with during the holidays but didn't find time to and have coffee and lunch to get caught up...but I am tired. | | I just got home from visiting my grandson in Kentucky. He is 18 months old--into everything--exploring everything! I took him lots of toys to bribe him into remembering me. I took a book that lit up, a magnetic alphabet set, and a little wooden nativity set. I expected him to like all his toys except the nativity set. | | |

| By Leanne on10/27/2008 5:27 AM | |
| | I attended a halloween Party over the weekend and one of the activities for the children was to decorate pumpkins. As they worked on their pumpkins, one child shared that she had just had to throw her pumpkin at home away because it was, and I quote, "so gross...all rotten..and the grossest thing you ever saw!!!" | | |

| I am the Church... | | Leanne's Blog
| By Leanne on10/6/2008 11:19 AM | |
| | The other night I watched an advertisement from the United Church of Christ where people from all walks of life and all ages were singing that old finger play song--"I am the church, you are the church..." At the end of the commercial they assure those watching the ad that their church is open and accepting of all people. I am not UCC and still I cried hearing that I, with all my flaws and faults, would be welcomed unconditionally into the church. And then I felt sad thinking of all the churches who only welcome those who think and believe exactly as they do...how sad to be rejected by a church. | | |
